It is ironical to see that on one hand, where around 20,000 delegates and observers have gatherred from around the world for the climate talks in Copenhagen, there are still questions around “whether global warming is real”. A report released by the World Meteorological Organization today says that the 2009 is one of the world’s hottest years since 1850 and that the world will continue to get warmer. The decade 2000-2009 is likely to be the warmest decade on record.
More heat waves across the world, particularly in warmer countries, will worsen the situation. Drought, floods, cyclones and the resulting impact on human lives seems irrevocable. Do we need more proof?
