Meetings:
9am (daily) – Youth in the Text Working Group – meeting 10 am – Bottom Liners 11am (daily) – gender YOUNGO affinity group – focusing on the situation of girls and young women related to climate change – meets today at NGO spot in Hall C (between the two big areas with lots and lots of laptops. From tomorrow onwards we will have meeting rooms J 12pm – working on the youth overall messaging arc (context: the narrative of “past & present” which Josh Kahn Russel talked about). Meet at fossil of the day spot
1 pm Handing out The World Wants a Real Deal placards to delegates. Meet at the Fossil of the Day booth. Avaaz Action Factory
1:30 pm - youth converge under the bridge in Hall 1 for an action of unified solidarity. If action approved, we will hold flags and stand for 15 minutes silently, mentioning that we stand with AOSIS, Africa, etc. If not, we will take a group picture by the globe! 2 pm – Today BUG reserved a room and space, but would like to dissolve and reform as a Strategy Working Group – meeting at 1:45 pm at Documents Distribution 2 pm - Voices of the Pacific press conference in the Bodil Udsen room – Project Survival Pacific will bring eleven Pacific delegates, along with additional island delegates to speak on the experiences of the Pacific and Island states of climate change.
9 pm – mid term evaluation of YOUNGO and Spokescouncil in BC to improve our coming week – café outside of this room, with snacks. One representative from each group strongly requested to join. Urgent for us to operate more effectively over coming week!
8:30 pm – PRESS CONFERENCE FOR YOUTH! Comms WG to outline a few details regarding today’s press conference
Announcements US Youth- Calling on International Youth to help engage the Obama Delegation when they arrive! (Ethan from the SSC will make this announcement) Action – Reclaim Power – Wednesday Dec 16 – Join representatives of NGOs, concerned scientists, and government representatives in walking out on the COP to join the Peoples Assembly which will be established by demonstrators coming to the Bella Centre. Please if you can tell your organization and try to get them to designate badges to those who want to participate in Wednesday’s actions. Big Youth Strategy Session Action Feedback – It was suggested that if the time is right, individual young people do an action as the final thing that we do in the Bella Centre. Speak to Josh Solnick outside spokescouncil if you would like more information or meet at the Greenpeace screen on the way to the station at 1pm to plan the action. 350.org’s founder Bill McKibben and the Maldives’ President Mohamed Nasheed speaking at Klimaforum today 16:00 – 18:30. Come and support! 3pm, Dan Turrell next to bodil udsen Youth Capacity Building Workshop on Climate justice and human rights with head of earthjustice Martin Wagner. 3.15 to 5.15 pm YFoEE workshop at Klimaforum ¨Hands on tactics training for youth activists demanding climate justice¨
